Before joining Wolfpack I used to dread going to the gym, would never get the results I wanted from standard gym equipment and routine classes never did the job. My enthusiasm for exercise was none existent and considered it an absolute chore! A colleague recommended Wolfpack to me and although at first I was a little hesitant and intimidated at the type of exercise I gave it a go and I haven’t looked back! What Clare has created at Wolfpack is such a welcoming, friendly, non judgmental environment that it is a pleasure to come to classes each week. The classes vary each week so you challenge yourself in different ways. There is no expectation to do something you don’t feel comfortable with and work within your own abilities. You get out of it what you put in, with encouragement and guidance from Clare to push yourself that little bit more to really get the most out of the class. My fitness and strength have improved immeasurably whilst actually having fun training!! Everyone is super friendly and I love being part of the pack.
As an on and off member since the beginnings, with a bunch people in a field, it’s a been a humbling experience to be part of the pack, which as grown from strength to strength. No matter what venue it has been held at, no matter what event have been organised, there’s is always fun, friendly, family like atmosphere! Wolfpack is for everyone! Absolutely anyone! Once you start you WILL continue! With the equipment that is provided and the classes that are prepared, you can push yourself as hard as you want and to any any level you want to achieve! The best bit is, everyone else is there to do the extract same thing, whilst having fun doing it, with zero pressure! And the Wolfpack Leader Clare?!?! A ballbuster but a great ballbuster! She will help you every step of the way helping you achieve whatever you want to achieve! I’m currently working with Clare on a long distance program due to working in London and in 8 weeks we have smashed PBs and nailed techniques with the great one to one professionalism that oozes out of Clare! A massive shout out to all the great pack members that make it so much fun and a joy to return! So do it. Get joined up. You won’t regret it! #bepartofthepack
I’ve been coming to Clare’s classes now for almost 2 years. I’ve tried various classes and at the age of 43 I’ve finally found something that I love and which suits me!!! Clare is a fabulous trainer and is completely non judgemental- as are the other members of the Wolfpack! 3 months ago, I competed a 15k Rough Runner course with a group of Wolfpack members. I was so proud of my achievement although there is no way I would have ever got through without the support of Clare and the team. I love Wolfpack and it fits into my busy lifestyle just nicely! Along with running, it’s my ‘headspace'
I've been going to wolfpack now for about 2 years and its the best thing I ever did. I joined at a time when things weren't great in my life and I needed some focus... best decision ever! Wolfpack is a pack, there is no judgement, no fakeness, no dress code and all the support you could need to reach whatever potential you want. No one will ever make you feel intimidated or like you aren't any good the whole pack is supportive and encouraging! I am sure Clare has eyes in the back of her head and always spots when i am trying to avoid burpees but she won't shout just gives encouragement to push a little harder! Obviously we work hard I've loved joining in events where we really do really work as a team. If you considering making a change come join the pack, what have you got to lose?
I’ve been attending Wolfpack classes for the past 4 years, starting off with the conditioning circuit then adding HIIT and kettlebell classes later on. The classes are always varied, with a real mix of weights to suit all abilities and give you somewhere to progress to. When I first started attending the classes, I was super unfit. My fitness has improved massively and I can always tell if I missed a few classes. Not only has it helped me physically but it’s the perfect stress-buster after a long day at work! Clare is a fantastic and encouraging coach, whilst also being really supportive. There’s always things going on outside of Wolfpack from endurance courses to Christmas parties, which gives it a real family feel. It’s not just an exercise class, you really get to be part of the pack!
I have been training with Wolfpack for about 5 years as a compliment to my triathlon training and have known Clare since primary school. I'd thought about the strength programme before but the commitment of 3 days a week, as well as my other training was difficult to juggle however when I lost my mum last September, Clare approached me and asked if I'd like to use the programme as a point of focus and if I am brutally honest, being at my lowest point for a long long time, it was exactly what I needed.e been training with Wolfpack for about 5 years as a compliment to my triathlon training and have known Clare since primary school. I'd thought about the strength programme before but the commitment of 3 days a week, as well as my other training was difficult to juggle however when I lost my mum last September, Clare approached me and asked if I'd like to use the programme as a point of focus and if I am brutally honest, being at my lowest point for a long long time, it was exactly what I needed.
From the first day, Clare explained things, focussing not only on technique but why that is the right way to do it, linking it back to muscle groups and how this allows progression. For me this is really important as I like to understand how things work as well as how to do them. Throughout the foundation weeks, Clare set baselines and achievable targets so that progression was seen week on week and generated an enthusiasm for doing it right and not wanting to wait to get back into the gym to tackle another session - unless it was my nemesis, the strict press ha!
As the weeks wore on, Clare gradually stepped back and I became more confident with the exercises. The weight became secondary, and it was all about getting good reps in; it sounds strange but on the mornings that I trained on my own, it would have been easy to shortcut some stuff but I didn't want to let myself down and most of all I didn't want to let Clare down either. She'd invested in me with her time and focus and I wanted to repay her.
Moving from the foundation to the graduate course, Clare tailored these sets for my personal gains in triathlon so focussed a lot on my back, core and triceps. There were times when I was completely wiped out after a session but knew they were all money in the bank. It was also good to feel like an established member of the group and join in the banter and offer help to new starters. There really are no egos brought to the table and it doesn't matter what experience you might have had, everyone is there for each other and we celebrates each other’s successes. This makes what could be considered an intimidating atmosphere very welcoming and quite relaxing, which helps massively especially when a 1RM is on the cards!
All told, I completed 3 cycles of the strength class and I was genuinely sad when this ended. It took me up to my triathlon season and have already seen gains on this when it comes to hill running and riding. In terms of physique change, my back and arms have more definition, my chest more size and my legs have strengthened more which clearly helps with the running.
The course also helped approaching things outside of the gym. As you setup for a lift, I focus on the technique, picture myself completing a good lift and breathe. This helps when tackling work things and just life in general really, picture yourself completing it - think positive - and breathe, let the outside forces which you can't control wash over you and focus on what you can handle.
At the end of the course, I had completed a 3 digit squat PB, a bench-press PB 10kg over bodyweight and a double bodyweight dead lift. Without Clare, the group and the structured programme which instils belief and constant progression, none of this would have been possible. Lifting big weight doesn't only make your body strong, it makes your mind strong as well. It gives you that belief that you can do it and if you fail, it is safe to do so, you regroup and you go again.
I would have absolutely no hesitation on recommending Clare, Wolfpack and the strength programme to anyone of any ability. When triathlon season ends, I know where I'll be heading back to!
